WHO WE ARE
Our Story
OUR CLUB AND PURPOSE:
Our Club-
We started this fun little project to be able to connect with other students and share our love of kpop. You don't have to be a fan of kpop to join the club, but just a fan of dance in general. We noticed the intense choreography in K-pop dances, and wanted for different students to try it out with us, and take a part in making new friends. There’s really no requirements, but a good attitude, cooperation, teamwork, and immense toleration for songs.
Our Events, Performances, Groups-
We have different groups such as the performance group and entertainment group. Our performance group is the group of people that feel good on stage and want to perform. We hope to be able to perform in Portola’s got talent this year, maybe do a couple of dances for school events, and even go to outside-of-school occasions*.
*Determined later on.
Where to find us-
We are currently using social platforms to communicate and hold club meetings [ ZOOM, INSTAGRAM, WEBSITE, EMAIL.. ] We have meetings every Tuesday after school, 2:20 PM - 3:00 PM for 40 min. We occasionally have some extra practice days for the performance group. *to be determined.
Activities-
Our club activities will mainly include dancing, choreo, small and large performances, group activities, maybe some singing or visual interpretations from time to time. We will be able to progress with our activities solely based on requests from our members. If there are any activities to request, please contact us! Through the attendance of dance classes, students will not only enhance the appreciation of dance and fitness but also gain self-confidence, self-esteem, build leadership skills, and build friendships.
Memberships-
The ones who signed up are members, and they will be taking part in the club. Of course, non-club members are allowed to come freely, but we will only be taking in members at the beginning of the school year, at the club event. We will also be accepting 4 more times for the school year. (exceptions will be made.)

The Kpop Idols
Kpop idols aren't just good looking, but have immense potential. They're the ones that don't make kpop into a music genre, but a global phenomenon. They don’t just sing or dance or rap, they perform. That's how kpop groups are made, different talents from the members are put together to perform the perfect performance from singing, dancing, rapping, songwriting, choreographers and entertainers, visuals****. Kpop group members are not just random people that got put to perform together. They were trained for years and by training means practicing every single day from singing to dancing to language, dieting, aiming for perfection, love, and criticism. They always have a great fashion sense and style and have fan service, where they can interact with fans. They have different themes for their albums and always like to experiment and create songs with the catchiest beats.
*There are more genres than ones listed.
**Most groups are unmentioned/this was taken off a list. Please do not get offended if your favorite group wasn’t here.
***Unconfirmed by some.
****keep in mind that NOT all groups are the same and fit in these specified areas.
